There Is A Light At The End Of The Tunnel

cda6630cf5e0485ae210a1c9966ae663.jpgEach year when I return to Taiwan to visit my family, the moments where I sit on the train (or MRT as it is called there) and stare out the window, reminds me of how fleeting life is. There are the beautiful moments of being in the darkness of the tunnel, then the light flooding in as you reach the end of the tunnel. The blue skies, scattered buildings and distant hills meet you. It’s only with the darkness, that we can learn to appreciate the light in our life. It’s the bad times that contrast so greatly with the wonderful times, that remind us what is truly important. If you are ever going through a tough period of time in your life, remember to cling onto hope. Trust in yourself, and know that although not everything is in your control, there are many things you are capable of.

Nothing bad lasts forever unless you allow it to. At least for many things we are able to let go of. Any difficult situation in life always comes to an ending when we learn from it, move from it or let it go. What I deeply believe in is that there is a powerful strength in having a positive heart and inviting hope and faith to wash over you. When we stay in the darkness, there is no way out. We build the walls around ourselves and we let it get darker and darker, that we might almost believe that there is no way out. There is a loss of hope and a part of ourselves falls apart like a puzzle or cracked mirror. When we allow a glimmer of hope to shine within us, we light the candle and find a way out.

23 “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.” -Mark 9:23
