White Rabbit Gallery

After walking past the White Rabbit Gallery on numerous occasions, I finally gathered my footsteps towards the entrance. The Gallery opened in 2009 to present some of the most significant collections of Chinese contemporary art made in the 21st Century. The Gallery is owned by Judith Neilson, who was inspired by the culture and art and was “thrilled by the creative energy and technical quality of the works she saw and wanted to share them with people outside China.” State Of Play (27 February 2015—August 2015) is the exhibition I attended. It is the first exhibition of 2015 exploring the different State Of Play. It begins with carefree games of childhood through the wild games of adolescence to darker adult games which include vagueness, ambiguity and facades. The exploration of creativity, imagination, fantasy, role play, and games of risk and deception, the 30 artists works play creative games, experimenting with techniques, styles, concepts and media. The exhibition was engaging to the eyes, with art hanging from the ceiling, sides of the walls and on the floor, truly exploring all dimensions. It is well worth a visit for the creatively hungry.

Admission is free.
