The Power of Positive Thinking

I recently read a book called The Power of Positive Thinking, by Norman Vincent Peale. It really spoke to me and I felt calm, happier and relaxed. It’s interesting how many times in a day we may let a negative thought enter our mind. It’s easy for negative thoughts to linger until we believe in them. It’s often that we create an issue in our mind that never existed. This is commonly known when we worry. I can’t recall the exact number of times I have been worried, because very much of the time, what I have been worrying about never happens.

Self Confidence is one of the most common thing that many people say they do not have enough of, but wish they did. When we have self confidence, we believe in ourselves. It is so often that we tell others “You can do it”, but we don’t tell ourselves enough. Maybe, we doubt ourselves or we unconsciously allow the negative voice to return. Remind yourself in these moments, that you have every ounce of ability to succeed. When you think that you can’t, then you have already set yourself up for failure. When you tell yourself you can, and truly believe this from the bottom of your heart, then you have succeeded. In thinking this, you are likely to take action for it and try for it. One important step to success is to have determination and to try. Think of how you woke up from bed this morning. Maybe you had to try to get up, but in doing so, you have a whole day of opportunities in front of you, simply because you took the action to wake up. But likewise, if you stayed in bed, then you are missing the opportunities of a full day ahead. Success and Positive thinking comes with lessons from failure. Don’t let fear of failure stop you from trying. Take everything brick by brick.  Believe in yourself. Don’t sweat it if you fail the first time, keep trying. If you, who may be reading this, feel a need to think more positively. Please, let me remind you how wonderful you are. You have the power of doing anything that you set your mind to. Don’t listen to the person beside you that is saying no, you can’t do it and listen to the person inside of you who says I can.
